VU Culture Centre is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with CAMINO project partners, we are offering an open, free training course titled “Intercultural Awareness in Central and Eastern Europe Context”. This course has been developed by lecturers and experts from 7 European universities, including Milda Varnauskaitė and Associate Professor Vytautas Kontrimas. The lead partner for the course is the University of Opole, Poland.

We invite everyone interested to try the pilot version of the course from January 20 to February 21, 2025, contribute to improving the material, and receive a course completion certificate!

The pilot course will launch on January 20. All registered participants will receive access to the course materials via email.

This course is designed for those interested in intercultural studies and research, seeking to acquire or update knowledge and skills related to interculturality, awareness, empathy, and inclusion, with a focus on the Central and Eastern European region.

Course foundations:

· Cultural Awareness – Understanding culture as a multifaceted and dynamic construct.

· Effective Communication (with Vytautas Kontrimas) – Learning strategies for clear and respectful interactions.

· Cross-Cultural Collaboration (with Milda Varnauskaitė) – Addressing stereotypes and promoting diversity and inclusion.

Course objectives:

· Enhance intercultural competence – equip participants with skills to understand and adapt to diverse cultural settings.

· Promote empathy and inclusivity – foster a mindset of respect and collaboration across cultural boundaries.

 

What to expect?

· Course structure: Introduction and 4 specialized modules.

· Duration: 30 hours / 6 hours per module.

· Learning method: Online, self-paced, from January 20 to February 21, 2025.

· Course language: English.

· Flexibility: Complete the entire course or choose individual modules.

· Certification: Certificates are provided for each completed module or the entire course.

· Cost: Free and open to everyone.
