The most important tasks of the Centre are to keep and foster University’s cultural, artistic and spiritual traditions, to plan and coordinate the work of artistic collectives, to allow the artistic and estetic development of students and represent the University throughout the country and abroad. The Centre organises concerts, plays and other events for students, employees, the society, carries out University holidays, commemorations, organises festivals, forums, creative seminars, etc. The groups of the Centre take part in Lithuanian and foreign song celebrations, international festivals, where they often become laureates, winning prizes and diplomas and in that way resounding the Vilnius University’s name all over the world.

Admission of new members:
Choir – a student wishing to join the ensemble choir arrives at a specified time before the choir rehearsal. The choir director Dovilė then listens to the student's voice (asks them to sing and perform simple singing exercises), thus determining the range of the student's voice, its further possibilities and their place in the choir (soprano, alto, tenor or bass). After the vocal abilities have been assessed, a joint interview will take place between the director, the existing choir members, and the student.
Orchestra – a student wishing to join the ensemble orchestra arrives a specified time before the orchestra rehearsal. Artistic director Eugenijus and orchestra director Virginija get to know the student, ask where they had played before and invite them to join the rehearsal, i.e. to try to play together with the ensemble orchestra during the rehearsal. This way, the student practices, gets to know the peculiarities of playing in the student ensemble, and if they enjoy themselves during the process, they join the ensemble.
IMPORTANT! It is not necessary to have your own instrument in order to play in the orchestra, the ensemble will provide them (except for birbyne – students must have their own birbynes, and if you play the kanklės, having your own kanklės is an advantage).
Dance group – a student wishing to join the ensemble dance group comes to the dance group auditions at the appointed time. Auditions are held only on the designated days and times. The student must arrive earlier in order to have time to change and prepare for the audition, put on comfortable clothes for dancing (skirts are necessary for girls), wear comfortable shoes. You can change in the bathroom or in Aula itself. Then the directors of the dance group, Indrė and Albertas, will ask them to perform simple dance steps, folk dance combinations or spins. One pair of ensemble members will present the steps to the studenta during auditions. After passing the first round of selections, they are invited to attend the final selection.
