On Monday, June 10th, at a public online event, the University of Latvia (LU) in cooperation with six other European universities presented the cultural cooperation platform "universities4culture.eu". The online platform was created as part of the project , or "CAMINO Project" for short.

The platform was created after the 29th of May signing of the Cooperation Memorandum between seven Central and Eastern European universities in Riga. This Memorandum aims to promote cooperation between universities, their cultural institutions, art collectives, students, and faculties in the field of culture.

At the virtual presentation event, which was attended by 149 interested persons from various European countries, CAMINO project partners presented the functionality and content of the platform. The platform was created based on the website of the University of Latvia and is administered by the Culture Center of the University of Latvia.

Currently, the platform unites seven CAMINO project partner universities from Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. In the presentation of the platform, the head of project administration, Gundega Vizule, invited other universities and cultural institutions to cooperate: "We believe that this platform will grow and become more and more useful, this way inspiring new collaborations, joint projects, and will also encourage us to visit each other's events and exchange good experiences." The possibilities are endless! Now it's up to us to make the most of this platform and contribute to its content!”

It is planned that the platform will become a database, a place for establishing contacts and exchanging information about university-sponsored art collectives, cultural events, and international cultural initiatives.
