Vilnius University (VU) Culture Centre presents the festive repertoire for the month of December! Open events of the university's art groups will be held in VU spaces throughout the Christmas period.
Concert „Kaukų išdaigos“

"Kaukų išdaigos" is the latest work of the Vilnius University Folklore Ensemble "Ratilio". It is a musical program of Lithuanian mythological tales, the central axis of which is the portrait of a chthonic mythological creature - kaukai. "Kaukų išdaigos" is a colorful stained-glass window of genres, in which archaic and modern elements of folklore shine harmoniously.

Concert „Oktalėdos“

The VU Wind Orchestra's Christmas Concert "Oktalėdos", which has already become a tradition, returns to the stage of the Great Aula on December 16th, at 5 p.m. As always, spectators and listeners can enjoy a cozy evening full of warm music, in which both familiar melodies and sensitive vocal songs will be played. the orchestra will present contemporary pieces for the brass band and together with the VU Lindihop Dance Group will invite you to move.

Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra presents the concert "Šv. Kalėdų vakarą...". On December 26th, 6 p.m. Vilnius University the most beautiful festive melodies of classical and contemporary authors will echo in St. John's Church, where residents and guests of the city of Vilnius are invited to listen to.
The youthful collective of Vilnius University is one of the few that organizes a concert specifically on the 2nd day of Christmas. At this special time of the year, young musicians gladly agree to share magical music with their listeners. The artistic director of the collective, Modestas Jankūnas, notes that "Šv. Kalėdų vakarą…” is an event far from the everyday, which has become a kind of spiritual tradition of the orchestra and the community. Christmas concerts bring together a large and supportive orchestra family: relatives, friends, former musicians, university and cultural communities. It's incredibly emotional!".
